A FAMILY LEGACY THAT LIVES ON

family-owned and operated since 1955

In the 1950s, my father founded the local welding shop as a way to help out his father and family – since that day, that small welding shop has changed and grown to become Old Country BBQ Pits.

Even though my father has long passed, and our business has evolved in ways neither of us could have imagined, our spirit has remained. We are always looking for new methods, equipment, vendors and ways of operating that will allow us to find savings and pass them onto our customers.

Our Mission & Core Values

As a family-focused business, our people and our passion drive us to be the best.An immense amount of pride and hard work goes into everything we build. Everything we create is made by our team right in our very own shop.

  • We may be known for our grills and smokers, but our history is more than that

  • 1955

Soon after high school, my father founded the local welding shop, choosing to leave college to help his father. The shop specialized in fabricating cattle handling equipment – everything from corrals to feeders.

    1982

In the 1980s, the cattle ranching business went bust and never recovered, forcing my father to search for new products to manufacture.

    1991

At my father’s request, I joined his welding shop.We were still trying to find our place in the world – every now and then, we’d build some grills and sell them to the public.Slowly, we began to realize we were good at it.

    2000s

As my father retired and I started a family of my own, I began to focus more on grills and offset smokers.

    Now

Since then, I’ve grown Old Country BBQ Pits into a team of 200, backed by state-of-the-art equipment and decades of experience.
